The event lasted exactly one day, attracting the attention of art lovers, Buddhists and the public of the capital.
Not only a work of art, Lotus Pure Land is considered by experts as a profound spiritual symbol of contemporary Vietnamese Buddhism.
This is also the only lotus painting solemnly displayed next to the Buddha's relics - India's national treasure - showing the sacred connection between the spirit of Buddhism and the beauty of Vietnamese art.
"Pure Lotus" painting by artist Kim Duc.
The oil painting depicts a lotus pond filled with light, where each petal exudes a Zen scent, evoking the purity and steadfastness of the lotus - a symbol in Buddhist aesthetics.
Painter Kim Duc said: "I hope the painting does not only stop at visual beauty, but also arouses positive energy, spreading the spirit of tolerance, peace and awareness to the community."
The work has been displayed at many typical cultural and artistic events such as: 9th National Buddhist Congress, Vietnamese Lotus Exhibition 2023, Hanoi Lotus Festival 2024...
Notably, at the 2025 United Nations Vesak Festival, more than 10,000 copies of the Lotus Pure Land were presented by the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha to international delegates such as the President of Sri Lanka, representatives of the Russian Government, Minister of Religious Affairs of Azerbaijan, Buddhist leaders of China, Bhutan, Myanmar, and tens of thousands of monks, nuns, and Buddhists around the world.
The work has also been certified by many venerable monks of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha and international eminent monks such as His Holiness the Drukpa lineage, Supreme Patriarch of Myanmar Buddhism.
Artist Kim Duc shared: “The delegates were very happy and respectful when receiving the paintings. I am truly happy that the work can spread the image of Vietnamese Buddhism as pure, compassionate and wise to the world.”
To further spread the message of compassion and wisdom, artist Kim Duc collaborated with technology expert Phung Kim Phong to release 200 limited editions of Lien Hoa Tinh Canh .
Each painting is embedded with an encrypted chip, managed by digital data, helping to authenticate its origin, prevent copying and plagiarism. “We choose wood covered with moisture-proof aluminum film, combined with sophisticated microchip engraving technology, making it almost impossible to counterfeit. This is a solution that both preserves artistic value and optimally protects copyright,” said the artist.
After the Lotus Vietnam 2023 exhibition , artist Kim Duc temporarily stopped creating for a while. However, his love for painting has returned. The artist is completing new works for Singaporean partners with the desire to bring Vietnamese art far and wide.
According to aesthetic experts, Lien Hoa Tinh Canh not only shows the pure beauty of the lotus - the ultimate symbol in Buddhism - but also brings viewers into a spiritual space filled with light and energy.
The work is considered an artistic treasure, connecting culture, beliefs and diplomacy - contributing to affirming the position of Vietnamese Buddhist art on the world map.
On June 23, a special version of the lotus painting "Lien hoa tinh canh" created by artist Nguyen Thi Kim Duc was displayed in Hanoi.
